Making Jewelry

Now that my working space is somewhat organized I am able to get back to work making jewelry and other fun things.  It is not always easy to find time to do that with three kids at home, two of whom need to be driven places and then picked up.  Even when I am not driving places I am constantly interrupted by my children through out the day.  It is next to impossible to get anything done.  I'm sure many of you can relate.
So with that said, I got a whoppin' six pieces of jewelry made in two weeks!!! (Did I mention one of those three children was sick?)

While at the Canton Flea Market in Texas, I found a vintage earring.  I was able to separate it into two pieces and make two necklaces out of it.  These necklaces turned out fabulous! (See photos at bottom of page).  I used some vintage beads from another flea market find, some tiny flowers and little round beads, on one necklace along with the earring piece, and it was a marriage made in heaven.

Some of the women at the event I was at in Texas wore clothing from a company called Magnolia Pearl.  Very feminine, soft, flowy, lace and crochet, prarie wear I guess you could call it.  The colors are soft muted Whites, Ivories and pinks.  I thought these clothes were beautiful.  I think this must have influenced my Amethyst and Pearl Necklace.  After I finished making it, I kept thinking how pretty it would look with one of those Magnolia Pearl dresses.  Infact,  I liked it so much, I made two - one for the store and one for my etsy shop.

Texas also has a lot of  "Bling".  So I had to make a little of that, but not too much.  Simple bling, if there is such a thing.  A short Clear Crystal necklace.  Simple but chic.  I like it.

A few weeks ago my sister-in-law, Michele was visiting from Indiana.  I took her into my friend Jocelyn's Store, A Beautiful Day, and she bought one of my necklaces.  The necklace she bought was a new design that I had done and it had only been in the store for a few days.  I don't usually make the same necklace twice but scince she liked it so well and it hadn't been out for very long I thought I'd try it again in another color.  We'll see how it does on etsy.

That's it.  All I've completed in Mon Petit Studio these last weeks. Oh, I did put some cute handmade labels on some unscented candles.

My jewelry and more is available at monpetitstudio.etsy.com
If you live in or near Ventura, you can find it at A Beautiful Day 1900 E. Main Street, Ventura, CA

By the way, the next Rose Bowl Flea Market is July 10th so check back to see what other creations may transpire from the next flea market find.
